Naghsh Consulting Architects and Engineers was established in January 1988 to offer engineering services in three key areas of "physical planning", "architectural design" and "construction supervision" of building complexes. From the very beginning, Naghsh also incorporated research activities among its undertakings. In all its activities, Naghsh aims at achieving masterworks that both adapt the scientific and technological global standards and are consistent with the socio- cultural characteristics of our land.
Physical planning, which is an important aspect of the mission of Naghsh, involves discussions with clients and stakeholders, consultations with experts, analyses and evaluation of other practices and ultimately studying of relevant and valuable material. Naghsh aims to develop comprehensive, viable and efficient plans that move us effectively to the design stage.
In the design stage, Naghsh Whole focuses on the procedures of preparing preliminary designs, detailed and construction drawings and even interior architectural designs. During the preparation of the preliminary designs, while adhering to physical plans, Naghsh architects seek to achieve designs that manifest the Persian culture. In this pursuit, the knowledge and expertise of Naghsh designers of the Persian architecture is an important pillar of this work. During the preparation of the detailed and construction drawings, the designers fully comply with the technical and construction principles and produce drawings that are as detailed as possible. While Naghsh designers are fully aware of the national construction industry, however, they do not confine themselves to it but open the door to modern construction techniques wherever necessary.
In construction supervision, a stage which is carried out with scrupulous precision and emphasis on quality and detail by Naghsh engineers (or other established and efficient groups), the designing stage continues in order to produce complementary plans, interior architectural drawings and even shop drawings as necessary. Consequently, Naghsh remains a part of the project from the design stage until full completion.
Naghsh research projects fall into two categories: i) applied research and ii) theoretical and historical research. The first group deals with applied issues, namely designing codes and regulations for different building types. The second category includes such issues as architecture training, the history of Islamic architecture and the contemporary history of Persian and world architecture. Naghsh researchers try to treat the research projects scientifically and logically and pave the way for more transparent movement in this direction.
During the recent two decades, Naghsh has carried out tens of research or planning projects, more than twenty architectural designs and translated more than thirty related articles and books. The designs of Naghsh have won the first place in four competitions, and Naghsh has also been labeled as the leading researcher in its field.
